Our Mission:

At NYAA we strive to give every student an individualized education as well as the fundamental building blocks on which to begin a career in the world of music and audio engineering

The New York Audio Academy was created to guide students along their journey to becoming accomplished audio professionals.

At NYAA, you’ll study with industry experts, inside professional working studio environments. We prioritize practical experience—there are no classrooms at NYAA—and that’s by design. All of our 1-on-1 lessons are taught IN THE STUDIO so students get hands-on, with the gear and software they are studying from day one. We also offer a variety of weekly group practice sessions and masterclasses on different subjects in the audio world. We invite exclusive guest speakers from all over the industry in fields such as radio, music production, and A&R. Our 27-week hands-on program takes place at Engine Room Audio, a renowned recording studio in downtown New York City.
