Introduction to NYAA

New York Audio Academy is the place to be if you are interested in learning about the music business!

In the Spring 2014 we are introducing our Music Industry Intensive course that will cover all aspects of the music industry, from how microphones work all the way to how to track your royalties and everything in between.

The Music Industry Intensive course will give you information about every aspect of the business, but will also allow you to acquire specific knowledge with the extensive workshop series.  Want to work with Pro Tools™ certified instructors and get in-depth practical knowledge of the workings of Pro Tools™?  We’ve got you covered.  Want to go deep into the workings of Reason™?  We’ve got one of the actual sound designers who built the program as one of our instructors.  Want to get into Artist Management?  We’ve got actual working artist managers who will mentor you.  The Music Industry Intensive course will offer the flexibility that you need in order to learn what you most want to learn, while giving you all the information you need to see the big picture.  And you will be learning it directly from some of the biggest names in the business.

This quarter, the Music Industry Intensive program will be offered in a ten-week course meeting twice a week, for three hours each session on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  The course is structured to give you maximum flexibility in how you want to learn, and what you want to learn.  The scheduled classes will provide you with a wealth of information about the music industry: the creative process, the art of recording, artist management, publicity in the internet age and distribution, and so much more.  In addition, the amazing optional programs that are offered will give you the opportunity to dive into specific technical areas of the world of audio recording, and give you the opportunity to earn operator certificates using the most cutting edge studio tools available today.

Our list of Guest Speakers represents some of the biggest heavy hitters in the business, and gives you the chance to learn directly from the best in the business, face-to-face.

In addition to the actual class time, there will be optional Workshops offered at no additional charge that will provide in-depth instruction in specific technical areas like Pro Tools™, Reason™ and operating the SSL™ Console. You will have the opportunity to earn Operator Certifications in as many of these areas as you choose.

We have an optional Internship program that allows you to spend valuable time in an actual commercial studio, assisting on sessions and learning the ropes.

In addition to all the other features of the Music Industry Intensive course, our unique Submissions program will give you the opportunity, if you choose, to have some of your original material reviewed and evaluated by some of the top talent buyers in the industry today.
